Mixed Media Collage

My work explores the relationship between natural and constructed environments, and how that impacts one’s sense of mental and physical well being; in particular, the therapeutic properties of both art-making and spending time in nature. Through colour and material experiments, I work primarily in mixed media collage, often using commonplace collected items, such as bread tags or the pages of old books. In my practise, I become the subject of my own art therapy initiatives through the use of meditative repetition, which translates to the presence of patterning in my work. I am invested in the process of creating and as someone who also works in sculpture, and predominantly ceramics, my explorations in collage allow me to continue to investigate creating three-dimensional art objects and incorporating a variety of media.
